Aside from all the issues we are seeing in the media about the conflicts in Mindanao, there are still some important problems that are not seen that really requires our immediate concern.
An alarming fact that only 30 percent of the population of Muslims in Mindanao, knows how to read the Qur'an.
The MYM is doing its best of answering the concern of helping our Muslim children in our community. "LIHAL Reading Qur'an" is a program which caters to educating kids from 5 to 13 years old on Qur'an. The main objective is to provide Qur'an to the Murid and an honorarium of 500 pesos per month for the Guru.
As of the moment the program is servicing two pilot communities in Zamboanga City, the total number of beneficiaries are 30 Murid and 2 Guru.
