The Muslim Youth Movement hosted Food for Peace program in Barangay Tetuan, Zamboanga City on August 9, 2009. The program fed the 60 unfortunate children from different streets in the City.Hon. Felipe Natividad, Barangay Chairman of the said community welcomed the MYM and congratulated their effort.
This program proves that Muslims are mercy to all mankind regardless of religion and affiliation. After the rituals like prayer Muslim is encourage by God to help the needy as part of the righteousness.
According to MYM members the Food for Peace organized by the students could promote the positive relationship between and among tri-people in the city. And the fruit of this simple initiative somehow recognized the unfortunate children as part of the family whom the children are looking for.
The children returned to their respective areas with smile and joy. And ofcourse the organizers contented to the successful programmed they experienced.
